PENGARUH VARIASI RESIN THERMOSET TERHADAP KEKUATAN KOMPOSIT SERAT ALAM AGAVE CANTULA ROXB

Abstract
The aim of research is investigating the effect of thermoset resin variation on mechanical properties of the cantula fiber composit . The Mechanical properties tested consist of tensile strength, bending strength and impact strength. The types thermoset resin are orthopthalic, isopthalic, bishpenol and versamid. The composite are manufactured by hand lay out method, and which has unidirectional orientation and 0,4 fraction volume.
Composite tensile testing refers to standard ASTM D 3039, for bending testing refers to standard ASTM D 790-97, composite impact testing to standard ASTM D 5942. The surfaces of impact tester are analyzed by stereo zoo microscope.
The results of research conclude that the highest tensile strength and impact strength of composite are reached by Versamid 140-cantula fiber composite. And the highest bending strength of composite is reached by Unsaturated Polyester 157 BQTN-EX- cantula fiber composite.
